Solutions: FUSION

During the data collection process, it is rare to collect completely synthesized data sets. Most information arrives in small segments with little or no background information behind it. The most difficult part of any analyst’s or investigator’s job is making sense of the information in an inclusive and efficient manner.

The solution is transforming big data into smart data utilizing CES’ data FUSION methodology. Using tried and tested collection and information synthesis models, CES is able to fuse disparate data sources together to make more sense of open source data. Our analysts can piece together fragmented data to paint a comprehensive picture of a subject.

CES’ executives were pivotal in the creation of the Federal Government’s data fusion centers after the September 11th Attacks. Fusion centers grew out of the wake of the tragedy as a way for government agencies to share information in an efficient manner. The fusion process was developed to make sense of all of the data flowing into the centers quickly and identifying threats as they emerge in real time. Today, this process is now in the private sector as well through CES’ FUSION center and data fusion processes.

The FUSION Process:

The FUSION process begins with the collection of as much raw information on a subject as possible. The pieces of data, as they exist, are separated from other sources of data. Without the FUSION process, this information is generally used for a single primary purpose. CES’ analysts can draw from these records to identify additional data sources, confirm information, and gain insight into a subject.

As the data is collected, it undergoes the data FUSION process to bind together related data segments. Eventually, a complete picture of a subject emerges from the data and becomes useful to the customer.

CES’ analysts collect as much open source pieces of information about a subject which includes public record information, media information, and social media information

CES’ analysts process the collected information to look for additional sources of data and categorize the collected data in an effort to fuse together disparate piece of data

CES’ analysts evaluate the collected data to determine its value in meeting the customer’s objectives

CES’ analysts review collected data to determine if newly collected information has affected the preliminary conclusions drawn from the earlier data

CES’ analysts create a customized report which comprehensively details what has been collected and the recommends the next course of action based upon the customer’s objectives

CES delivers the custom report to the customer which is designed to give them to most intelligent information available about the subject

The Benefits of Data Fusion:

CES’ Data FUSION process makes disparate and big data smarter. Our analysts use fused data to make collected data more useful to the customer. CES’ FUSION process can enhance:

  • Business Intelligence
  • Strategic Assessments
  • Legal Cases
  • Background Checks
  • Investigations
  • Threat Mitigation
